Welcome to the Mississippi Junior Sea Wolves Youth Ice Hockey Program!
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
We accept players ages 5-18, no experience necessary.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
The season begins in late October and will run through early April.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Practices and home games are held at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Games may be played across the region.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Depending on ice time, teams typically practice 1-3 times per week.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
"Friendlies" are usually played on Saturdays and Sundays. Occasional tournament games and travel are optional.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Most players should already have both jerseys. New players, and returning players wanting new jerseys will need to purchase them.
Costs
What costs be should be expected?
A registration fee of $350 plus the USA Hockey registration fee, hockey equipment, gear, and some travel expenses should also be expected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child still register if they have never ice skated before?
Absolutely! We have a Learn to Skate program that will get them skating in no time!
How can I get a refund after I register my child?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds.
Is there hockey gear available to borrow for the season?
We have minimal gear available to borrow. We recommend purchasing all the gear you will need. We do hold an equipment swap at the start of each season where you may be able to find some used gear.
Is there a local store that sells hockey equipment?
Unfortunately, there is not. We recommend ordering online. We are happy to help with any sizing questions you may have.
Where can I get my skates sharpened?
We offer skate sharpening at the Coliseum BEFORE practice only for a fee of $5. Skates must be dry to be sharpened.
